Small Business Marketing Tips
Are you burnout trying to do all the marketing for your small business?
- Always an endless to-do list
- Did we update our website?
- Are those emails ready to go out?
- Who finished the lead generator?
I get it, there are a lot of things to do when it comes to marketing. Things that feel like they should be easier.
Today, I want to give you 3 helpful starting points for marketing your small business.
Let’s dive in!
Don’t tackle everything at once
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and try to take on everything.
The real problem here is that you aren’t sure how to prioritize what’s important and how to execute on it.
Ideas are simple, execution is hard.
The most common mistake I see is trying to do it all at once. This only results in poor quality output. Not something you want associated with your business.
Start slow and take it one step at a time.
Your website has to have clear messaging
No matter how good your offer is, your website will deter people if the message is off.
Here are some common ways your messaging might be off:
- No clear audience you are speaking to
- The problem your customer faces is nowhere to be found
- Lacking a strong call to action
Don’t make these mistakes.
Provide a clear and consistent message on your website, and something that’s used in all your marketing.
Consistency is key here.
Any inconsistency speaks negatively about your business. That reputation can be hard to overcome.
Send emails to your email list
Email is alive and strong in marketing.
If you have an email list, you need to be sending emails to it. Even if it’s for the sake of your ideal customer seeing your name in their inbox. It will remind them that you exist and are ready whenever they are.
Here are some tips for starting to send nurture emails:
- Create a list of all the problems your customer has told you they have
- Write emails that start with talking about the problem
- Talk about your solution and how it overcomes that problem
- Detail how their life will be transformed by it, using visual language
If you only send emails every other week that’s only 26 emails a year. I’m sure you can sit down and come up with 26 problems your customer has.
Hope that helps!
